Comins Jazz Guitar Amplifier

Nothing is more satisfying to a guitar player than the fluid responsiveness of his instrument. It is the feeling that the guitar is gently coercing the notes out of your fingers while capturing all the intended nuances. It has been my experience that a truly good guitar amplifier will facilitate if not enhance this experience. Generally this kind of responsiveness and three dimensional sparkle is something I’ve always associated with tube circuitry. While there are numerous tube amps on the market, I have often felt there is a need for a high quality, higher output tube amplifier voiced specifically for jazz guitars. And one that could be transported without the use of a forklift.

For a number of years I have known George Alessandro and his dedication to building top notch amplifiers. Our collaboration began when he introduced me to his “Working Dog” models - a high quality, simple to use, lightweight line of guitar amplifiers. I asked him if we could develop a similar amp that would have increased output and a voice that would be more attenuated for jazz guitar. We were shooting for a sound that was warm and complex, while being thick, round, punchy and alive. After a good bit of trial and error as well as consultation with some well respected artists we are pleased to introduce the Comins line of amplifiers.
